Inheritance and distribution of inheritance

The firm’s lawyers have extensive experience in inheritance matters, which include the discovery, acceptance, distribution and maintenance of inheritance. The estate is a community which will include all movable and immovable property, as well as rights and obligations which belonged to the deceased at the time of his death. The immediate heirs are the members of the family – spouse and children. Succession is governed by the law of succession. Under the law of succession, all the deceased’s property, rights other than purely personal rights and obligations generally pass to the heirs. An heir may also take an inventory, i.e. be liable for the debts of the heir with his own property, if he disposes of the inventory, i.e. makes an inventory of the whole estate within a certain time. The right of succession is the right of a person to express his last will, in the absence of which it means succession by operation of law.
